Intersecting Choruses:
Racialized & Migratory
Lesbo-Queer Realities.

This bilingual anthology required a design that could carry intimate, complex stories across languages and identities. The layout invites the reader into a physical and emotional engagement with the content—encouraging a slower, more reflective reading rhythm.

The design integrates subtle shifts in orientation and reading direction, prompting the reader to physically turn the magazine in order to navigate the stories. This gesture is not only functional, accommodating both French and English content, but also symbolic—reflecting the layered, non-linear experiences of migration, queerness, and cultural translation.

A balance of whitespace, carefully set typography, and visual pauses helps the reader connect with the work on a personal level, while the varied pacing between text and imagery mirrors the diverse voices within the publication.
